Andor J. Kiss

photo of Andor KissDr. Andor J. Kiss, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biology and Microbiology, is a Supervisor of the Center for Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics (CBFG).

Andor Kiss has been with the CBFG since 2011, and as Director has sought to expand both the types of services and variety of instrumentation available to both on-campus and off-campus investigators. Building on a strong record of an integrative approach to biological problems, including those that require extensive knowledge of comparative physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, functional genomics, and bioinformatics, Dr. Kiss’ focus on both instruction and training places the CBFG in a unique position to accelerate the participation of undergraduate researchers. Xiaoyun Deng

Xiaoyun Deng, Senior Technician in the Departments of Microbiology. She is a technician of the Center for Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics (CBFG).

Xiaoyun Deng has worked at CBFG since 2007, being involved in the transition to next-generation sequencing technologies. Before joining the CBFG she worked as a Research Technician at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at Miami University. Coupled with her extensive laboratory experiences in conducting research in molecular biology in a number of different laboratories in China, Singapore, and other states in the US, Xiaoyun enjoys teaching and training both graduate and undergraduate researchers.
