Dr. Kelly is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Her scholarly work focuses on the recontextualizing of special education using the lens of Critical Disability Studies. Situating disability as a normal dimension of human diversity, Dr. Kelly works with pre-service teachers in general and special education to understand the social and cultural construction of disability within the system of special education in U.S. public schools. She assists pre-service teachers in developing the skills requisite to redesigning curriculum, instruction and classroom environments that allow for broad student inclusion and success. Dr. Kelly also co-coordinates the Disability Studies minor at Miami University and teaches the Introduction to Disability Studies class.
