Scholarships Available for OMA Facilitator Training 2016

OMA facilitator working with artist

Miami University Scripps Gerontology Center’s Opening Minds through Art (OMA), is holding two facilitator training sessions in Oxford, Ohio in May and June of 2016. The training will provide artists, healthcare professionals, and service-learning educators with the knowledge to implement this award-winning, evidence-based intergenerational art program for people with dementia. Ohio long-term care facilities can satisfy the requirements for the Quality Improvement Project by attending one of the training sessions and implementing OMA in their facility.

ArtsWave Creating Community through the ArtsOMA 2016 Facilitator Training is now accepting applications for scholarships that will apply to registration fees.  The scholarships are competitive and will be awarded based on the quality of the application. Applicants currently registered for training may also apply for the scholarship.  The deadline for scholarship application is March 25, 2016. Final decisions will be made by April 1, 2016.

Scholarship funding for the Opening Minds through Art (OMA) 2016 Facilitator Training is made possible in part by a grant from ArtsWave's Arts for Health Initiative.
