Courtney Parker

Courtney Parker joined the Scripps team on February 1 as our Communications Specialist. Her primary roles include general communication and marketing related tasks, including managing social media, copy editing, and internal and external communications.

Courtney earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Howard University. Her background has been focused in live event promotion, with a concentration in utilizing digital communications channels.

Courtney’s interest in the field of aging began with an internship supporting a national long-term care nonprofit in Washington, DC, where she assisted in the planning of meetings and conferences for long-term care advocates. We are excited to welcome her to the team!

Meghan Young

Meghan Young joined OMA as the Associate Director on February 1. Since 2018, Meghan has worked as a Scripps Research Associate, where she assisted with data collection and management on several research projects and dissemination of Scripps research. In her new role, Meghan will instruct OMA service-learning classes, support facilitator training, and further the mission of OMA. Meghan has been engaged with OMA since her undergraduate days as an OMA volunteer.

Meghan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology and her Masters in Gerontological Studies from Miami University. Her career in the field of aging and the arts began in a service-learning class during her first year at Miami when she facilitated storytelling experiences for older adults living with dementia in nursing homes. Since then, Meghan has worked on research projects dedicated to making communities more age- and dementia-friendly, instructed virtual, intergenerational service-learning courses, and assisted long-term care providers with implementing arts-based activities for their residents. She believes everyone, regardless of age or ability, has a story to tell and using art is the best way to share it.
