Ohio faces a demographic and financing challenge as its population ages in the next 20 years. The number of people age 60 and older with a severe disability is projected to increase by 60% while the overall population growth will be at two percent. This brief explores issues related to the availability of informal caregivers, home care workers, and state role as the payer of last resort.
