Miami’s own Dr. Rodney Coates serves as the Western Center’s Collaborating Scholar on its AY 21/22 & 22/23 biennial theme: Reparations as Restorative Justice. Dr. Coates brings decades of scholarly and practical expertise in the area of racial injustice, for which President Gregory Crawford awarded him the 2021 President’s Medal. Dr. Coates advises the Western Center on its public co-curricular programming as well as co-instructs the spring 2022 and 2023 sections of WST 301 on the topic. Learn more about Rodney's work here.
