Valuing Water MiniConference educates the public on importance of clean water
On March 19, the Western Center for Social Impact and Innovation sponsored and organized the four-session half-day Valuing Water MiniConference: An Environmental and Sociocultural Exploration of Water. A service project on March 20 also took place at Four Mile Creek Restoration with Three Valley Conservation Trust.

Miami's Humanities Center stimulates conversation by addressing race and racism with the Laptop Lecture Series
Miami University's Humanities Center has developed a new Laptop Lectures series this fall on race and racism. These online lectures are short videos recorded by faculty members in social isolation and connect humanities research to contemporary social challenges.

Why anthropology matters now: Dr. Augustín Fuentes gives the International Anthropology Day lecture
The Department of Anthropology presented its International Anthropology Day lecture on Thursday, February 27. University of Notre Dame professor Dr. Augustín Fuentes spoke about his experience as a bio-cultural anthropologist and the ways in which anthropology helps us understand human history and culture.

Miami's updated Critical Race & Ethnic Studies major offers students a powerful new cognitive tool to confront today's global challenges
This fall, the Department of Global & Intercultural Studies (GIC) in the College of Arts and Science has unveiled the Critical Race & Ethnic Studies (CRES) major. New majors, a new department, approved by Miami trustees
