Becoming An Anthropology Student
If you are thinking about majoring or minoring in anthropology, or taking a thematic sequence, the Chief Departmental Advisor for the Anthropology Department can help you identify the best academic options, connect you with resources to help you pursue your interests, and help you understand department and university policies.
Transfer Students
The Anthropology Department's flexible course cluster system makes it easy to count anthropology courses you've taken at another institution toward your major at Miami.
Once you have made your decision to transfer to Miami University, you should receive a welcome letter from the Dean's Office that has instructions about what you need to do prior to course registration. Your next step is to contact the anthropology department's Chief Departmental Advisor for advising and course selection. The CDA will determine which major requirements your transfer courses fit into, and help you plan the most efficient way to get the classes you need to complete your degree.
A full explanation of Miami's policies regarding the transfer of courses to Miami and personalized transfer course evaluations can be found on Miami's Admission website.
International Students
The Department of Anthropology welcomes undergraduate international students. For details on being an international student at Miami, check the international student page at Miami's International Admission website.
