How did being a Miami chemistry/biochemistry major help you enter medical school?

"Being a biochemistry major at Miami was one of the best choices I ever made. Having a strength in and passion for biochemistry, specifically, was a huge bonus when applying to medical school, setting me apart from other applicants. "

How does having been a Miami chemistry/biochemistry major help you currently in medical school?

"I strongly believe that chemistry, above other subjects, is best taught and understood on the level of true understanding. Seeking to learn, rather than to know, is the best way to approach medial school, and I learned how to study this way during my undergraduate years in the chemistry department."

Any advice for those who would like to go to medical school or who are considering to choose certain majors?

"Medical school is not easy; therefore, choosing an easy route to get to medical school is not the best idea. Challenge yourself during your undergraduate years so you can figure out how you best learn and show medical schools how prepared and capable you are!"
