OWP 2023 Youth Writing Camps

Intermediate & Middle School Writing Camp

The Youth Writing Camp provides young writers with exciting, active, and cooperative experiences that will enhance and improve their writing skills while sparking their creativity. The four-day camp is facilitated by OWP trained classroom teachers and local authors.

When: July 17 - 20, 2023 - 9:30am - 3:00pm

Where: Miami University, Oxford Campus

Who: Any student entering 5th - 8th grade. Writers will be separated by grade-level bands (5/6 and 7/8). Registration is limited to the first 40 students per grade band.

Cost: $200

High School Writing Camp

Rise Up and Write!

In this new high school writing camp, teen writers will join a writing workshop where they will hone writing craft, write toward change and celebrate their own voice through writing. Writers will make their own choices of topics, modes, styles and audiences.

If you or someone you know likes to write stories or slam poetry or nonfiction or digital pieces, or anything … this camp is the one!

When: July 17 - 20, 2023 - 9:00am - 3:00pm

Where: Miami University, Oxford Campus

Who: Any student entering 9th - 12th grade.

Cost: $250 - Scholarships are available through a grant from M.I.A.M.I. Women’s Giving Circle. Simply email ohiowritngproject@miamioh.edu for information.
