Our very own, Bachelor of Science Geology major, Rosamiel Ries has been awarded the 201902020 academic year Barry Goldwater Scholarship.  Please see the entire article at https://goldwater.scholarsapply.org/  The article will explain how Rosie was one of 496 college students, out of over 5,000 applicants, to received this award.

Rosie's career goal is to get a Ph.D. in seismology to become a professor and conduct research in earthquake triggering and seismicity in continental interiors.  Her mentors here at Miami University are Drs. Michael Brudzinski and Brian Currie.  Congratulations on this high honor Rosie!
