Congratulations to graduate student, Rae Sanchez, who was recently awarded the Lipman Research Award in the amount of $3,000!  The Lipman Research Fund was established in 1993 and is supported by The Lipman Family Foundation.  The purpose of the fund is to promote and support graduate-student research in volcanology, petrology, geochemistry, and mineralogy.   Rae's research project is titled, "Causes of Chemical Variations in Monogenetic Eruptions:  the Magmatic Evolution of Xitle Volcano, Mexico.
