Reginald Bell

Reginald Bell, Jr., is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Media, Journalism & Film Department. In addition to teaching, he is currently a communication consultant to Senator Raphael Warnock.

Several of Bell's current research projects focus on the intersection of Culture, Myths, and the impact of Televangelists. His dissertation for his Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Memphis analyzes the rhetoric of Joel Osteen, leader of the mega-ist church based in America.  

His mass communication and media portfolio includes being social media and marketing director for the africanamericanlectionary.org and the women of color in ministry.org websites, social justice curator for CompassionateChristianity.org, supervising the multi-media staff at First Institutional Baptist Church, which is a mega-church, and as communications director for a non-profit organization called Fresh Start. These experiences have equipped him to design messages that increase organizational visibility and engagement.    

Finally, the training he received while obtaining his Master's of Divinity from Emory University has resulted in three peer-reviewed homiletics publications, and he was a project lead for the Norton anthology, Preaching with Sacred Fire: An Anthology of African American Sermons, 1750 To the Present.
