Alyssa Fisher

Alyssa Fisher currently teaches multiple sections of principles of public speaking. Fisher received her bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies from Gordon College. She has also completed a master’s in arts administration from the University of Oregon in addition to earning a doctorate in media and communications from Bowling Green State University.

Before returning to school for her doctorate, Fisher worked in training and communication for a software company on the product development and implementation team in Cincinnati.

Previously, she has completed research on transmedia music festivals as well as created her dissertation, a visual analysis project that uses media ecology and intersectionality to examine the discourses found on female-led YouTube channels.

Her research focuses on the convergence of old and new mediums and the way that manifests itself on the YouTube platform, including organizational communication strategies, performances of gender, and digital migration.
