Journalism Coordinator Patti Gallagher Newberry will be one of the speakers at the Poynter KSU Ethics Workshop Sept. 19 at Kent State University.

The 15th annual Poynter KSU Media Ethics Workshop will address media ethics issues and covering activism at a day-long program Thursday, Sept. 19 at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State University. The Workshop is titled “Act. Action. Activism?”

Newberry is also president-elect of the Society of Professional Journalists, which has created the Code of Ethics for journalists. She will be sworn in as president of SPJ Sept. 8.
