First Year Research Experience (FYRE) - HASS Scholars Living Learning Community
The First Year Research Experience (FYRE) Living Learning Community (LLC) - HASS Scholars Only is a residential community of first-year undergraduate humanities and social science students who will be HASS Scholars that aims to jumpstart student involvement in research and inquiry at the very start of their college experience.
The FYRE LLC also encourages academic excellence, mutual social support, and community engagement as students transition to Miami's Oxford campus. The FYRE LLC for HASS Scholars will engage in activities such as an informal dinner with faculty, tour labs/studios, visit an art museum or historical site, do community service projects, participate in networking events, engage in leadership opportunities, and social activities.
Registration
Once admitted to the University, students interested in being considered for the FYRE LLC - HASS Scholars must request the FYRE LLC - HASS Scholars Only when completing their general Miami housing application.

Leadership in Student Organizations
HASS Scholars will also have the opportunity to participate in CAS multicultural, affinity, and special interest student organizations to further build community, serve as student leaders, organize academic and career events, and engage in service-learning opportunities.
