How to Apply

Students must enroll in LSAMP during the Early Arrival Program or within the first 10 days of the Fall Semester. First-year students who are not enrolled in LSAMP during the Early Arrival Program, may enroll during the first LSAMP meeting of the fall semester or in the LSAMP Program Director's office during that 10-day window.

To apply to attend the Early Arrival Program, check your Slate account with Miami University Admissions to see your invitation and follow the directions.


To be eligible for the LSAMP program, students must be:

  • confirmed as a Miami University student or in good standing with the university
  • citizens or permanent residents of the United States or its possessions
  • working on undergraduate majors in approved STEM disciplines
  • African-American, Alaskan Native, American Indian, Hispanic American, Native Hawaiian, Native Pacific Islander, or a mixed ethnicity including one or more of these

To remain eligible after the first year, students must maintain a 2.8 grade point average or above.
