  • Take advantage of state-of-the-art media facilities that include a film editing lab, several individual film-editing and audio-editing studios, a full broadcast news sound set and master control studio, and a radio production studio
  • Develop new models for reporting and produce online content for local and regional media organizations
  • Cover stories for The Miami Student newspaper, develop commentary and other content for the student-run RedHawk Radio, help produce original programming with Miami University Television (MUTV), and submit original prose and poetry to the magazine Inklings
  • Experience a close-up look at many careers and network with prestigious Miami alumni and other professionals through the Inside Workshop series:
    • Inside Hollywood reveals the behind-the-scenes structure and operations of the entertainment industry with tours of TV production facilities and meetings with Los Angeles-based Miami alumni
    • Inside Washington gives students the opportunity to meet the movers and shakers of the nation’s capital, including key media and political figures
    • Inside New York and NYC Media: provide the ultimate insider's view of the advertising, public relations, and news and media industries in New York City
    • Inside Chicago offers in-depth visits to the Windy City with Miami alumni representing both famous global brands and smaller boutique firms in the fields of public relations, marketing, advertising, and media
    • Inside Cleveland helps students meet with Cleveland-based Miami alums to gain real-world insight into a wide variety of career choices for liberal arts majors

The College of Arts and Science

Representing nearly half of all students, the College of Arts and Science (CAS) is Miami University's largest division and the centerpiece of liberal arts — the wide range of subjects in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities crucial for the development of key professional skills desired by employers.
