
Audition Requirements for Piano



Undergraduate Requirements
- Three memorized solo works from the classical music repertoire, including a sonata movement and two contrasting pieces from different periods that best represent one's capabilities, both musically and technically
- All major and harmonic minor scales in four octaves, with the hands one octave apart
- Sight-reading
Graduate Requirements
All repertoire should represent a level of difficulty appropriate for a senior recital for the piano performance major.
- A memorized solo piano sonata from any music style period
- Two additional memorized solo piano works from the standard classical repertoire (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, and Contemporary periods) but differing from the period of the solo sonata above
- All parallel motion major, harmonic minor, and melodic minor scales in four octaves
- Sight-reading
