The Institute for Innovation in the Arts & Design fosters creativity and interdisciplinary collaboration, empowering the Miami University community to engage with the arts & design as a catalyst for innovation. Through dynamic programming, we inspire curiosity, critical thinking, career readiness, and civic engagement to cultivate creative problem-solving and transformative leadership within communities and industries.

Design and implement cutting-edge arts and design initiatives that inspire creativity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and problem-solving, equipping them with the skills needed for diverse careers and leadership roles.

Create meaningful opportunities to connect with local and global communities through collaborative arts initiatives that foster cultural awareness, social impact, and real-world experience.

Develop Strategic Partnerships for Growth

Establish and strengthen partnerships with organizations, institutions, and industry leaders to provide students, faculty, and staff hands-on experiences, mentorship, and professional networking opportunities in the arts and creative industries.

Secure Resources for Success

Pursue funding opportunities through grants, donations, and sponsorships to expand scholarships, financial support, and resources that empower students, faculty, and staff to explore, innovate, and excel in their creative and academic pursuits.

The mission of the Institute is to empower students and the broader Miami University community to engage with the arts and design as catalysts for innovation. It will nurture creativity, critical thinking, and civic engagement, preparing students for leadership roles in a variety of fields.

  • Flexible, skills-focused curriculum – Expanding existing AMAE offerings to include Entertainment Management and new initiatives in Entertainment Design.
