Medium: Metal, stones
Instructor: Lisa Johnson (email)
Skill Level: Intermediate

Create beautiful settings for faceted stones without the use of a torch in your own home! Students will learn how to make flush settings with burrs and a burnisher, tab settings specifically for round faceted stones, and settings with spacer rivets to hold a faceted stone in place. These different, creative styles of setting a stone will be showcased in a ring and/or pendant using non-ferrous metal.

Setting up at home is EASY and all demonstrations are live and interactive. We will connect with each other to solve technical problems, explore design concepts, and help each other through constructive critiques to create our jewelry pieces. Everyone will understand the basic fundamentals of using various setting techniques for faceted stones and fabrication processes as a group and through one-on-one consultations.

Students should have experience using a drill and jeweler’s saw.

At this time, registration for Cool Settings for Faceted Stones is closed.
