
Siblings and Other Such Oddities: Whimsical Canvas and Paper Clay Figures

Do you have a crazy sibling, a weird grandma, or a particular character that makes you smile? Then
join me for a week-long workshop where you will design and create your own personally inspired,
whimsical figure from start to finish. Students will learn how to sew a canvas figure, sculpt with
paper clay, master dry brush painting, and other creative techniques.. You will leave the workshop
accompanied by your new creation and a new set of creative skills.

Scissors- Walmart
sewing needles- Walmart/JoAnn fabric
small clay modeling tools (for miniature sculpting with clay)- HobbyLobby/Amazon/Michaels
3-4 paint brushes (small rounds #0-2 for details and one larger brush 1/2")
- Hobby Lobby/Amazon paint palette
- Hobby Lobby/Amazon 1 roll masking tape
-Walmart 3-4 1 gallon ziplock bags
-Walmart Optional: old buttons, lace/fabric trim, other very small embellishment items.
Studio Fee
All workshops have a studio fee. Fees are collected at the end of the workshop and payable by check or credit card. MU no longer accepts cash.

About the Instructor
Pamela Hignite was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio. She evolved into sculptor and art educator after a jaunt through motherhood with five rambunctious children. She holds a BFA, MFA and MA from Miami University. She received the Lilly Endowment in 2012 and 2020.
