“Bridgerton” soundtrack collaborators welcomed as Miami artists in residence this fall

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen performed by Vitamin String Quartet

Vitamin String Quartet will spend three days as Cromer/Flory artists in residence through a collaboration between Miami’s Performing Arts Series and Department of Music. Their visit will include interactions with members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras youth programs, Miami Music and Arts Management students and conclude with an open-to-all performance in Hall Auditorium on Tuesday, October 24th, at 7:30 p.m. for a sample of their incredible catalog of arrangements, which include a few tunes any fan of Netflix’s hit show “Bridgerton” will recognize.

Since the project’s start in 1999, Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) has helped establish classical crossover as a genuine force in contemporary music while accompanying countless listeners through their workday and late-night study sessions, scoring unforgettable film and TV moments and helping couples around the world create their perfect wedding playlist. Fresh off high-profile placements in Netflix's smash “Bridgerton” and Universal’s “The King of Staten Island”, VSQ has “reached a mainstream, global audience” (Variety) and “charmed the world with their classical covers” (Nylon). As such, they have become one of the most popular contemporary string ensembles in the world.

Miami Music Department alumni, College of Creative Arts Advisory Board member and vice president of the global Wasserman talent management agency, Andrea Johnson is the brains behind VSQ’s tour and key to their visit to her alma mater. She will be joining the musicians along with Aron Silverstein from the group’s record label to talk with Miami students, faculty and staff about the fascinating story behind Vitamin String Quartet and their domination of the classical crossover genre.

“While Vitamin String Quartet are known the world over for their beloved arrangements and beautiful performances of some of the greatest pop songs of our time, this is their first ever tour and we are so delighted that they will be kicking it off here at Miami University,” assistant director of the Performing Arts Series, Gwenmarie Ewing, said.

Based in Los Angeles, VSQ features a rotating cast of musicians and producers and frequently collaborates with animators, creators and like-minded artists. To date, these heartfelt renditions have earned the ensemble over 1 billion streams, almost 4 million downloads and over 1 million physical units sold. Seven of VSQ’s albums have charted with Billboard, peaking at four in both the Classical and Classical Crossover categories. Their vast and eclectic catalog guarantees you’ll find something you love and their most popular playlists provide you with the tools necessary to soundtrack your day.
