Miami Alumna features product line in Bed Bath & Beyond

Miami University Interior Design alum, Lauren Bencivengo ’15, recently won first place in a competition sponsored by Cloth & Company and Bed Bath & Beyond as part of the annual Dwell on Design convention held this past June in Los Angeles, CA. Bencivengo’s designs are now being featured in Bed Beth & Beyond’s online catalogue in the Emerging Designer Collection.

A team of judges featuring, among others, the Cloth & Company founders and the Bed Bath & Beyond design director narrowed down the hundreds of applicants to five finalists and selected Bencivengo as the winner. Bencivengo based her textile designs on inspiration found in architecture, fashion and everyday objects.

Bencivengo is a junior designer at Delawie Architects in San Diego. Her winning collection includes four patterns in accent chairs, ottomans, storage benches, throw pillows, headboards and window panels.

Arthur Stark, President of Bed Bath & Beyond, said, “We are excited to partner with Cloth & Company to discover these emerging designers and to give them a platform to develop and bring to market unique, high quality products that offer our customers easy and enjoyable solutions for daily living.” Bencivengo’s designs sell online for between $99 and $404.
