Student Response Exhibition ~ January 29-May 18, 2019

Congratulations to 34 student artists

An annual exhibition now in its 5th year, the Miami University Art Museum's Student Response Exhibition is designed to showcase and reward the talents of student artists of all majors and in all forms of creative expression. This year's theme encouraged submissions in relation to the box and is titled, Outside the Box.

The exhibition will open on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, and will remain open until Saturday, May 18.

This year's call for entries attracted 92 works submitted by 47 students. The submissions were then juried by the staff at the Miami University Art Museum narrowing down the final selections to 30 works by 34 students. One of the works was created by 12 students.

"The student work was fantastic and we were thrilled with the quality and variety of the submissions", said Curator of Exhibitions Jason E. Shaiman. "It was difficult to narrow down the final works but the main criterion was the quality of the works and the connection to the theme."

Upon the opening of the exhibition this coming January, visitors will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite works in the exhibition which will earn the top three cash prizes to be awarded at a special award ceremony and reception in April.
