In the College of Engineering and Computing, we offer high-quality professional education in engineering and computer science, integrated with Miami University's traditional strength in liberal arts. Our students are focused not just on the acquisition of technical knowledge, but on engineering design and experiences mimicking professional practice even in the first year. We spare no effort in preparing students for a lifetime of learning and growing, where they address challenging societal problems. Our graduates are prepared not only for the first job, but for a rewarding career.

Our environment for teaching, learning, and scholarship is intellectually stimulating, interactive, and innovative. It is quickly apparent that our faculty are deeply committed to student success. In our classrooms, the faculty inspire and encourage students to actively participate in their learning. Outside the classroom, faculty invite students to take part in the excitement of research and discovery. There are numerous opportunities for experiential learning such as internships, service learning, participation in professional organizations, leadership training, and international experiences.

This is what we call engaged learning—an approach that makes for a more meaningful education for all of our students!

The College of Engineering and Computing is one of six academic divisions at Miami University and includes four departments:
