CEC to host two more faculty research seminars this semester
Last semester, MME professor Dr. Kumar Singh started hosting faculty research seminars to engage colleagues with one another. Now, with four seminars under his belt, Dr. Singh is ready for two more to finish out this semester.

2021 MUCAT Design Innovation Competition is a-go despite COVID-19
Last year, the MUCAT Design Innovation Competition fell to the wayside in the wake of a global pandemic. This year, over half a dozen teams are back and ready to compete in this completely virtual iteration of the competition.

J-term workshop on process control and automation
For three weeks in January, eight CEC students attended a workshop dedicated to exposing undergraduate students to hands-on work with process control and automation.

Check-In: Paper science senior design project
Each year, graduating paper science students are required to participate in a senior design project. But before that, this year's group of 15 seniors has to practice first.

Two students receive Menditto Scholarship
The scholarship, endowed by alumni Jim and Jane Menditto, is given annually to undergraduate students in the MME department who have demonstrated high academic performance, as well as achievement outside the classroom.

In Remembrance of Dr. Chris Peterson
Dr. Chris Peterson, chair and professor emeritus of Miami's Chemical, Paper and Biomedical Engineering department (CPB), has passed away at the age of 84. The cause and date of his passing is unknown to us at this time.

NIH R21 awarded to Dr. Hui Wang
By advancing the imaging technology, they will be able to reveal the detailed process of lens regeneration in newts, including lens fiber differentiation, lens vesicle formation, changes in iris vasculature and more.
