Guidance for Employees and Managers

As we welcome our largest incoming class in history this fall, Miami will be returning to a full complement of campus activities. While vaccination remains our strongest weapon against the virus, we will continue with many of our COVID-19 health and safety practices including:

  • All employees, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a face-covering indoors. Unvaccinated persons are also expected to follow CDC guidelines and wear masks outdoors when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Vaccinated employees are not required to wear face coverings outdoors. All employees are encouraged to wear masks when physical distancing of 6' or more cannot be maintained. View our face-covering policy.
  • The University is cleaning and disinfecting high-touch areas at least once a day. Cleaning supplies will be available in classrooms and workspaces.
  • Engaging in regular hand washing and hand sanitizing
  • Providing supplies so employees can regularly disinfect personal workspaces (e.g., laptops, phones, and desks)
  • Restricting hosting of minors and other visitors on campus

For those employees who believe they are not able to return to campus to work or who need additional assistance to return to campus due to a serious underlying health condition, the university will work with them to provide reasonable accommodations.
