10th Annual National Civil Rights Conference comes to Miami University
Miami University will host the 10th Annual National Civil Rights Conference June 20-22 on the Oxford campus. This is the first time the conference is being held in the Midwest.

Historic marker fosters healing from past racially motivated injustices
Soil collected in 2019 from the lynching sites join jars from across the nation at the Equal Justice Initiative's Legacy Museum in Alabama. Note: Research discovered two differeent , spellings for one victim's name. It was later determined that the correct spelling is Simeon Garnet. Several years of work led by Miami University's Truth and Reconciliation Project culminated with a narrative historic marker that is now a permanent fixture in the City of Oxford. An unveiling ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, June 21, in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park uptown.

Miami's Juneteenth 'Teach-in': a Q-and-A with Professor Rodney Coates
Rodney Coates, a professor of critical race and ethnic studies in the department of global and intercultural studies at Miami University, will give a pre-recorded webinar lecture at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, about the importance of Juneteenth in American history.
