The curriculum allows students to develop foundation knowledge in the process of instructional design and the application of that knowledge with various technology tools and educational media.

Several courses are designed to prepare instructional designers for various settings which may require more specialized media and technology skills.

Program Requirements

The master’s program requires a minimum of 30 credit hours (including: 3 IDT core courses, 6 required courses and 1 capstone project course).


The Graduate Certificate for Instructional Design & Educational Technology intended to provide instructional designers and educators with core knowledge about the processes involved in the design, development and integration of technology-based instructional media, methods and systems.
