Application Process
There are two steps to be taken in applying for admission to the Instructional Design and Technology graduate program.
Step One
Apply to the Graduate School of Miami University which maintains

The Graduate School office will correspond directly with you concerning your admission to graduate work.
Step Two
Admission Requirements
Admission to the master's degree program requires:
- Acceptance by the Graduate School
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience (may be waivered pending candidate's qualifications),
- A vita or resume detailing your interest, work experience and reasons for pursuing a degree in Instructional Design and Technology
- Transcripts
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty or other person who can provide insight about your potential for graduate study and interpersonal skills.
All application materials should be submitted online. If you are unable to submit materials through the online application, please contact the program coordinator for instructions for submitting materials via traditional mail.

Application Deadlines
The review of candidates will begin following due dates:
- December 1 (Spring Admission)
- April 15 (Summer Admission)
- July 1 (Fall Admission)
In order to facilitate matters, you should submit the departmental items as soon as possible. You need not wait for Graduate School admission before transcripts, references, essay, and statement to the department.
The department will consider your application when all items are received, including all three references. You may check with the department Administrative Assistant (513-529-6621) at any time concerning missing items or the status of your application.
Your credentials will be carefully considered and you will be notified of departmental action on your application as soon as a decision is made.
