Black Lives Matter: Racial Justice and Education Virtual Panel Discussion

Please join Miami University's Department of Teacher Education for a virtual panel discussion on racial justice and education.

Black faculty as well as students (both past and present) from the Department of Teacher Education will discuss both the experiences of Black pre-service teachers and the impacts that these new, yet very familiar, discourses on American race relations have within the field of teacher education.

This panel will be facilitated by Teacher Education faculty member Dr. Nathaniel Bryan and doctoral student Rachel McMillian with alumni and current student panelists: Genesis Ross, Rachel Hollins, Janae Sneed, Sydnie Singleton, Alaysia Plair-Easton, and Jeremy Allen.

Fall 2020 Courses

You may be aware that the university has altered the fall 2020 academic calendar, to begin a week earlier than planned. While this will undoubtedly effect the dates of our fall sprint Q-term, we don't yet know the exact dates our term will begin or the live session Saturdays we'll employ. Updates will be provided as soon as we know for sure what dates we will utilize.

Registration for the fall term is still available in BannerWeb and we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Consult your plan of study to confirm which (if any) of the available fall courses are needed to satisfy your individual program requirements.

Contact the One Stop office if you have any issues regarding registration. Contact Lesley Sawhook with any course advising questions.

Teacher/Professional Licensure Information

Students completing their licensure course requirements this summer should check that they've completed all program requirements before contacting the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) to apply for the Intervention Specialist license. Contact ODE for application assistance. Additional information about the licensure assessments may be found online.

Program Application Deadline

The SEOH program is accepting new license-seeking applications through August 1 for anyone wishing to begin the program this fall. Please share this information with any prospective students you might know who have been considering our program as part of their professional development goals. Questions about admission can be directed at Derrick Moore by phone or email.
