Requirements for Degree Completion
Our program includes a minimum of 30 credit hours with coursework in sport leadership (e.g., psychological, cultural studies, organizational management), research methods, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, internship and independent research opportunities, elective courses in specific content (e.g., sport marketing, sport law, leisure, principles of coaching, global sport), and successful completion of a final exit examination or Master’s thesis. The exact program of study is specified in an individual academic plan developed by the student and faculty advisor. The option is available for students interested in sport psychology to pursue the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) certification.
Coursework
This Master’s program is focused on the study of leadership in sport, with supporting interdisciplinary knowledge in kinesiology, health, and related cognate areas.
