How Can I Afford Study Abroad/Away

Because study abroad opportunities are academic experiences that will contribute to the students’ degree requirements, students may use their financial awards to help cover the costs of tuition and associated expenses.

While it is possible that a study abroad experience may not cost any more than living on campus, all students are encouraged to contact a staff member in the One Stop for Student Success Services (Nellie Craig Walker Building) to discuss options available for your program.

Students must file a FAFSA to be eligible for federal financial aid. We encourage students to apply for study abroad/away scholarships at Finances and Scholarships.

Can I Fit Study Abroad into My Academic Plan?

Yes. It will require planning so let your advisor(s) know of your interest right away.

Timeline of Things To Do/Think About Before Departure

Studying abroad is an exciting experience that requires careful planning and preparation. To ensure a seamless transition, it is crucial to follow a well-organized timeline of tasks. From obtaining necessary documentation to financial planning, cultural research, and health considerations, this timeline will guide prospective students through the essential steps they need to take before studying abroad.
