What is Interviewing?

Interviewing in just a conversation. This conversation is designed to determine the fit between the employer and the prospective employee. The interview will typically be the most significant aspect of the employment process.

Keep in mind that interviewing involves a mutual exchange of information. It is not designed to be a process of inquisition or interrogation. The ‘fit’ should go both ways, so the interview is also your opportunity to ask questions!

On-Campus Interviewing

Some employer partners visit Miami to interview students at the Career Center. This On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) is organized and tracked by Handshake. To participate in on-campus interviewing, you must:

  • Highly recommended to attend a Interview for Success Workshop
  • Update/review your Handshake profile
  • Upload your resume(s) to Handshake. Teacher Candidates need only attend a Interview for Success Workshop if you intend to interview on-campus for non-teaching positions
  • Please note the On-Campus Recruiting No Show/Late Cancellation Policy

Interview Rooms Available

Reserve a private space in the Career Center to conduct your internship and job interviews, mock interviews, and informational interviews.
