Professor EJ Ume is currently an Assistant Professor in our department. He received his PhD from the University of Alabama in 2014 and started with Miami that same year. His research interests are focused on housing, monetary policy, banking, and other aspects pertaining to the field of macroeconomics.

• Has COVID affected your every day work life? If so, how? Yes. COVID presented me with the opportunity to develop my online teaching skills.
• What are some ways this new way of life has benefited the way you look at your daily work operations? I've developed a greater appreciation for face-to-face instruction.
