Prior Semester Expectations:

During semester leading up to departure there will be mandatory pre-departure meetings. These meetings will address program details, course registration, roommate preferences, important dates, and tips for success.

Program Curriculum:

Students will take:

  • ONE (1) or TWO (2) pre-approved business course(s) through IES' academic center (Fulfills the Miami Plan Global Requirement)
  • THREE (3) three-credit hour non-business courses at IES’ academic center. These will be general studies courses which can be used to complete a thematic sequence.  If you don't need a thematic sequence, additional business courses are contingent upon availability, capacity, and scheduling.
  • Students have the option to participate in a part-time internship. If selecting this option, students will be enrolled in BUS 420 through Miami.
  • The following business courses have been pre-approved by the FSB. Other, non-business courses may also be pre-approved by Miami but approval must be sought by the appropriate department.
