Departmental Notes:

  • A 2.0 GPA in all ACC courses is required to graduate.
  • Business Electives requirement is 3 hours at the 200 level or above. Cannot be a Business Core class.
  • ACC 468 is an Accountancy Elective, typically offered in the fall only.
  • Accountancy Electives vary by semester and are subject to change.
  • Business Capstones cannot be applied to Business Elective requirement.
  • At least 4 required 300/400 level ACC courses must be completed at Miami.
  • Eligibility for the CPA Exam and/or eligibility for licensing as a CPA requires 150 semester hours and 30 ACC hours in most states. Other requirements vary by state; visit the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy for links to state-by-state details.

General Requirements:

  • Must earn 124 hours to graduate; minimum of 52 hours of non-business coursework required.
  • 2.0 GPA overall and 2.0 GPA in business required to graduate
  • FSB students must select a non-business thematic sequence (some exceptions—consult your advisor).
  • Pre-requisite information available in the Miami Bulletin.
  • Diversity courses may meet GMP Intercultural Perspectives.
  • First-Year Integrated Core (BUS 101, BUS 102, ESP 103, BUS 104) satisfies GMP Experiential Learning.
  • BUS 284 fulfills Advanced Writing.
