For the Fall 2021 Semester, appointments will be held either in-person or virtually through Zoom

In Navigate, please select the modality that fits your interest for the appointment.

Drop-In Meeting

10 minutes in length

Meetings are first-come, first-serve with any FSB Academic Advisor.

For the Fall 2021 Semester, Drop-Ins will be held virtually via Zoom

What's discussed?

  • Any quick questions
  • Planning for upcoming semester courses
  • Clarifying academic requirements or policies
  • Discussing FSB Admission or exploring FSB minors

Non-Business students should attend drop-in advising for any questions related to business.

Advisors in 1022 FSB use Navigate to schedule advising appointments. Please see the instructions below.

  • FSB Advisors advise all first-year, sophomore, junior, and senior business majors.
  • Non-FSB majors should plan to visit daily drop-in hours.
  • Plan Ahead! During peak advising periods (October-November and March-April), you should schedule your advising appointment 2 or more weeks ahead.

Note: You will receive an error if you attempt to sign in to drop-in advising before they are available at 1:00pm EST


Checking-In means that you are in the queue, and you should expect to receive contact from an advisor via e-mail, zoom, phone, or Navigate.

How to Check-In for Drop-In Advising

  • Due to COVID-19, Drop-in advising (Monday through Friday from 1-4 pm Eastern Time) will be conducted virtually via Zoom. Please let us know if you would prefer using a different platform.
  • Drop-in hours are for quick questions that can be answered in 10 minutes or less. If you have questions or concerns that may take longer, please schedule an appointment with your assigned academic advisor.
  • Drop-in advising is available Monday-Friday 1:00-4:00 pm during fall and spring semesters starting on 08/16/2021. 
  • There are typically multiple advisors available during drop-in advising and students are met with on a first-come, first-served basis. Wait times may vary. During peak registration periods, wait times can exceed 30 minutes. 

1. Login to Navigate

  • If your home screen does not say Student Home, click the triangle drop-down menu and select Student Home.


2. Click Get Assistance.

3. From this page you will want to click View Drop-In Times under "Other Appointment Options" on the right side of the page.

4. Under "Service" click Drop-In Appointment under Oxford - FSB - Academic Advising Drop-In. Then click Find Available Time.

 5. You'll then need to click Farmer School of Business Advising - FSB 1022.

6. You'll then click Check-in with first available

  • If Drop-Ins are unavailable, it will be noted. Drop-Ins occur Monday through Friday from 1:00pm-4:00pm (EST).
7. Once you click Check-in with first available, please go to your MiamiOH.edu email. An advisor will email you with a link to join your Zoom drop-in appointment when it is your turn.

8. If you need to remove yourself from Drop-Ins before you have met with an academic advisor, you will need to go to your home page and click Check Out on the right-hand corner.

How to Schedule an Appointment in Navigate

1. Login to Navigate

2. Select Get Assistance from the top-right corner.

3. You will now be at a page where you can select a service, and pick a date for your advising appointment.

4. Select FSB-General Advising as your intended service, then select your intended date for advising, and Find Available Time

5. Go through and select an open space for your academic advising appointment. Navigate will give you multiple different open options for you to choose from.

6. Select your date and the modality of your appointment in "How would you like to meet?" 

  • In-person: appointments will be conducted in the FSB Student Services suite (FSB 1022). Students are expected to adhere to the Healthy Together guidelines.
  • Online platform: appointments will be conducted via Zoom and meeting instructions will be available in the appointment notification you receive after successfully scheduling a meeting with your advisor.

8. Click Schedule and you are all set!

Navigate: How to Cancel an Appointment

  1. Login to Navigate
  2. On the right-hand side of the home screen click on the meeting in Upcoming Appointments.
    Within SSC-Campus advising appointment scheduling system, students can select the upcoming appointment location and their name to cancel an advising appointment.
  3. When the dialogue box pops up, click Cancel My Attendance in the bottom left-hand corner.
  4. Select a reason from the drop-down menu and add a comment. Then, click Mark as Canceled.
  5. You will see Appointment Canceled along with your comment. Click Close to exit the dialogue box OR click your name on the left side menu to reverse your cancellation.
  6. You and your advisor will receive an email notification with the cancellation.
