Ecuador: Community, Culture, and Development in the Andean Highlands	Be immersed in a community in Otavalo Canton, Ecuador, staying with host families and working alongside community members on a project. Learn about local approaches to sustainable development by talking with community leaders and working on projects in the field . Observe different business models including local cooperative groups, small entrepreneurial ventures, and large commercial enterprises. From our conversations with community leaders, you'll also learn about local approaches to sustainability, public health, and how Ecuador's legal system recognizes both Indigenous and federal law. Euro-Connections: Support for Children, Families, and Communities	Immerse yourself in the day-to-day lives of diverse families and communities in Luxembourg, one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse countries in the EU. Learn about building community partnerships through service learning in agencies that serve children and their families. The course will culminate with a study tour to Munich, Germany. Expeditionary Leadership in Alaska	Imagine a classroom with no walls, where your daily syllabus is written in the landscapes of Central Alaska. Over the course of this 13-day immersive course, you will: wake up to the vistas of Denali, backpack through pristine Chugach National Forest, and watch glaciers calve from the cockpit of a sea kayak in Prince William Sound. Built on the philosophy of experiential education, this journey bridges the gap between action and reflection. Every challenge is an opportunity to build community, develop technical skills, and rethink traditional views of leadership. Cultivate your leadership capacity by developing practical communication, risk management, and team development skills transferable to any professional field. By stepping out of the comfort zone of campus and into the Alaskan wild, you will return with a redefined perspective on what it means to lead.	SLM 453 (3 credits)
FSB Barcelona Internship	Join us in Barcelona for a six-week study abroad experience that combines professional internships, academic learning, and cultural discovery. The program begins with part-time internships paired with coursework, before shifting to full-time internships that allow you to gain deeper hands-on experience and build valuable industry connections across industries such as fashion, technology, finance, and travel. FSB London Internship	Embark on a transformative journey with our London Internship Study Abroad Program, designed specifically for highly motivated and mature business students eager to gain global experience. Over six weeks, you’ll immerse yourself in the heart of one of the world’s most influential business capitals, combining academic learning, hands-on professional experience, and rich cultural exploration. Italy: Ancient & Modern	Reside in the beautiful city of Reggio Emilia while you study Italian language and the longstanding influence of Classical antiquity on the modern world. This experience is ideal for the student interested in history, ancient and modern Italian culture, food culture. The location gives countless opportunities to engage with the culture and the history of Italy. For the Classics course: Consider the infrastructure, living conditions, and conveniences of the cities the Romans built focusing specifically on the city of Rome as the most important and central locus of ancient life. Rome is an ideal location to study its foundation to its fall as the still living “text” of the city, and students would benefit from visiting and studying that text at both archaeological sites and in museums. It is far more effective to get a sense of space, and to imagine daily life in antiquity when confronted with the material culture of its societies in person than simply seeing images in a textbook. For the Italian course: Italian food is an amazing experience, and a way to understand more in depth local culture and history, together with topics like food production, consumption, and sustainability. The experiential learning component will allow students to make an impact in the target culture and to learn about cultural differences.	CLS 102 and ITL 231 (6 credit hours)
Knowledge Representation in Italy	This four-week summer workshop in Calabria, a beautiful region in southern Italy, is a unique chance for students of all majors* to gain understanding of the artificial intelligence field of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. The academic program includes guest lectures from Knowledge Representation experts from the University of Calabria, a prominent Italian university with an internationally renowned department of mathematics and computer science. The program includes travel to several sites in Calabria and nearby regions as well as several days in Rome.	CSE 268 (3 credits) and CSE 468 (3 credits)
Life at the Top of the World	Travel to the 'Roof of the World' and experience life in the Himalayas of Nepal. We will trek with our local guides through the Himalayas as we experience what life is like at altitude. We will see stunning scenery and several of the highest mountains in the world, including Mt Everest.	KNH 481 (3 credits)
Student Teaching Luxembourg Summer	The need to prepare globally competent teachers has rarely been greater. The advantages most often cited for preparing globally competent teachers include: an improvement in self-assurance, confidence, and flexibility; the ability to prepare responsible national and international citizens; improved pedagogical skills; a better understanding of the American educational system; increased cultural sensitivity; the ability to teach an increasingly diverse student population; the ability to acquire second language skills and to teach those students whose first language is not English; and, greater marketability post completion of student teaching abroad. The Student Teaching Program in Europe (STEP) is the oldest teaching abroad program at Miami. For more than a generation, schools in the European Union have hosted Miami student teachers. Summer Student Teachers will spend the entirety of their student teaching experience in Luxembourg at a local International School that offers a curriculum delivered in English. Chicago Finance Week	This is an experiential course to give students an opportunity to learn and practice equity and business valuation skills in a real-world setting. After completing this course, students will be able to perform valuation analysis using the appropriate methodology. In addition, students will be able to develop and give an effective presentation on the merits of a particular position to industry executives. Finally, students will be able to determine what types of valuation roles are available in financial firms and how best to pursue those careers.	FIN 320 (3 credit hours)
Inside Washington	Inside Washington provides students with a full-service internship experience. The program offers professional advising during their internship search, a safe and convenient place to live in central D.C., extraordinary experiential learning experiences through small-group interaction with D.C. professionals, and guidance on how to leverage this experience for future success. Inside Washington is an ideal program for students of all majors because of the unique academic experience and internship opportunities in D.C. You will lead small-group discussions with D.C. influencers from the Hill, news media, think tanks, nonprofits, federal agencies, and lobbying firms. Inside Washington offers participants leadership roles, "soft skills" building, and federal policy research.	POL 426 (3 credit hours) and Transfer credit hours based upon internship assignment
