Education Abroad Mentors

The Education Abroad Office is excited to launch a new mentorship program. The following students have agreed to speak openly with you about their study abroad experiences.

While this program is welcoming to all students, we acknowledge that certain underrepresented and underserved populations deserve our particular attention and support. This program is especially for you!

We also acknowledge that no two study abroad experiences are the same, and that a mentor can help to answer questions and provide insights. The mentors are here to share stories, offer student perspectives of international travel, and discuss your goals and concerns.

To get started, click the button below, and we will connect you with a mentor. Feel free to reach out to our office if you have any questions by emailing educationabroad@miamioh.edu

Isabel Ergun

Hello! My name is Izzy Ergun, a junior at Miami University. I am a Middle Childhood Education major. During my sophomore year, I studied abroad through USAC to San Sebastián, Spain for both the fall 2019 and spring 2020 semesters. This opportunity completely changed my perspective and goals in life. I am very flexible and adaptable to anyone who needs guidance and encouragement as you set off on the exciting experience to study abroad. I can offer the unique experience of living in Europe as a culturally diverse woman, and all that comes with it. I am a huge advocate of learning outside of one's comfort zone while also giving them the knowledge and support of their personal definition of success. I hope to offer whatever I can, to make students feel less fearful and unsure about the choice to study abroad.

Arianna Mack

I studied abroad in Belize during J-Term 2020 through the Health Care Service Learning in Central America program and it was the best time of my life.
