Searching for a Job
International students may work on campus at Miami University during studies. To search for on-campus jobs and application instructions, visit Miami’s Student Employment. Please take care to review on-campus work authorization instructions first.
For help job searching for work off-campus, an important resource is Miami’s Center for Career Exploration and Success office. This office provides guidance on the career planning process. Important topics include business etiquette, networking, resume and cover letter review, and practicing interview skills. Students can enroll in a course, EDL 100, for career development. The Center for Career Exploration and Success provides access to CAREERLink and websites for internship positions and jobs. Every semester, a major recruitment and employment fair is organized. Please note that the Farmer School of Business has its own office dedicated to helping students in the business school navigate the internship and job search process.
ISSS and the Center for Career Exploration and Success collaborate on career-oriented workshops for international students. These workshops will be advertised by ISSS every semester.
This is a reminder that no international student has automatic off campus work authorization. When job searching, it is important to be knowledgeable about work authorization. Learn more about work authorization options.
