Tax Preparation
Miami’s ISSS Office and Payroll Office staff are not tax experts and cannot provide tax advice. To assist our international students and scholars, the university provides access codes to those students who received a form of income from Miami University in 2022 to cover the costs of the primary Non-Resident tax forms created in the Sprintax software. Sprintax has a friendly and easy to understand user interface and provides 24/7 access to direct tax help from an online professional.
Sprintax access codes are only available to those students who received a form of income from Miami University in 2022. Students who received no income from Miami may still use Sprintax, but will have to pay a fee for each tax form generated by Sprintax. The option may be useful for students who received income from sources outside of Miami via CPT or OPT. Please be aware that commercial software such as H&R Block or TurboTax does not support Non-Resident tax forms. Do not use those programs unless Sprintax indicates that you are a "Resident Alien for Tax Purposes."
The filing deadline for 2022 taxes is April 18, 2023!
