Oxford is a small town, but you should be able to find most of what you need in the immediate area. This section will review the dining and shopping options in Oxford, as well as resources outside of Oxford that may meet more unique needs.
Shopping in Oxford
There are many shops, large and small, located in the Oxford area. You will be able to find the majority of what you need for your time here at Miami within Oxford, but note that there are other stores in the Cincinnati and Hamilton area if you cannot find what you need here. Restaurants
Oxford is home to many restaurants that will meet the majority of your needs during your time here at Miami. We have a variety of American and international restaurants, as well as coffee shops and bakeries. You can find an up to date list of Oxford restaurants at Enjoy Oxford Dining.
Restaurants in Oxford will accept major credit and debit cards, as well as cash. Please note it is customary to tip 10–20% for service in restaurants where you sit down and are waited on by a server. Servers in the U.S. are not paid a regular wage and therefore depend on tips for their income. You can write the tip on the receipt or leave money on the table. At places like a coffee shop or a restaurant where you order at the counter and then sit down, you can leave a small tip in a jar at the counter if you received very good service.

Oxford and the surrounding areas have a variety of grocery stores and international markets where you should be able to find many ingredients and products from your home country.
Local Grocery Stores and Markets
Kroger
Tollgate Shopping Mall, 300 S Locust St, Oxford, OH 45056
Kroger is a chain of grocery stores common in the Midwest and other parts of the country. Here you will be able to find produce, dry goods, meat, fish, and other basic groceries. You can also find many personal care and household items such as toiletries, cleaning products, and other the counter medication. There is also a pharmacy located inside the store. Kroger’s is walking distance from campus and is also accessible by bus. There are also many apartment complexes nearby.
Walmart Supercenter
5720 College Corner Pike, Oxford, OH 45056
Walmart is a very large store that has sections for groceries, household, personal care, and many other items. You will be able to find low cost groceries here, including produce, dry goods, meat, fish, and other basic groceries. You can also find items for your residence hall or apartment here, such as furniture, lamps, bedding, and electronics. There is also a pharmacy, vision center, and auto parts store. Walmart is accessible by bus.
Moon Co-op
Tollgate Shopping Mall, 512 S Locust St, Oxford, OH 45056
Moon Co-op is a small cooperative grocery store, which means it is owned and operated by local people. Moon Co-op focuses on providing local and organic products for a better community. You can find local and organic produce, dairy, meat, locally handcrafted cheese, or fermented foods. Moon Co-op also has a small deli where you can take away sandwiches and soups. Moon Co-op is is walking distance from campus and is also accessible by bus.
Asian Food Mart
Main store: 5930 Fairfield Road, Oxford, OH 45056; Mini market: 33 W High Street, Oxford, Ohio 45056
Asian Food Mart is a small grocery store and restaurant that offers many Asian ingredients and produce, as well as a restaurant offering authentic Asian cuisine. They have a larger main store that is further off campus, and a smaller mini market in uptown which is walking distance from campus.
International Markets outside of Oxford
Dayou International Market

Conveniently situated in the heart of Mason, OH, Dayou International Market is one of the largest grocery stores in the area. From basic weekly grocery lists to hard to find foreign items, we offer a wide range of products from all over the world.
Jungle Jim’s
5440 Dixie Highway, Fairfield, OH 45014
Jungle Jim’s is an expansive international grocery store with products from all over the world. They have over 50,000 products from over 70 countries. They have many fresh and specialty items, and you are sure to find the ingredients or products from home you may be missing here. Jungle Jim’s is accessible by car, and ISSS offers bus trips once a semester.
CAM International Market
Village Crossing Shopping Center, 10400 Reading Road,#145, Cincinnati, OH 45241
CAM is a large chain Asian supermarket located about 45 minutes outside of Oxford. They sell over 10,000 items from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and many other Asian countries. Products such as dry food, snacks, noodles, bakery, sake, can food, on-site prepared food, kitchenware, Asian book, music, and cosmetics are sold here.
Halal Market
7755 Tylers Pl Blvd, West Chester Township, OH 45069
A small market specializing in Middle Eastern food and halal meats. There is also a small restaurant serving shawarmas and fatoosh salads.
