Molly Heidemann and Amy Cockrell

In recognition of the communication and assistance provided to international student athletes during one of the most challenging times ever experienced, International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) director Molly Heidemann and assistant director Amy Cockrell, along with Aaron Bixler, Senior Associate Director of International Enrollment in Admissions, were among those honored by Miami Athletics on September 21 as Teammates of the Year.

The Teammate of the Year award recognizes those who provide service and support to student-athletes, coaches, staff, and department in a way that exceeds the traditional responsibilities associated with their position.

In announcing the award, associate athletics director Brad Corbin, said, "In recent months, our University's international student population experienced significant upheaval and uncertainty. Student-athletes were not immune to these unique and chaotic circumstances. Throughout the summer, as we tried desperately to provide support for these student-athletes, it was ultimately these three honorees who provided every bit of insight and guidance to help them feel comforted and ultimately return to Miami for the fall semester."
