About
Howe Writing Across the Curriculum (HWAC) is the faculty-focused arm of the Howe Center for Writing Excellence (HCWE). Dr. Elizabeth Wardle and Dr. Mandy Olejnik lead HWAC with support from a small team of Graduate Assistant Directors.
Our mission is to help faculty and graduate teaching assistants provide the most innovative, research-based writing instruction in the country. We also strive to give faculty and graduate students the resources they need to develop their own writing projects.
HWAC is committed to influencing writing-related research, practice, and policies at Miami and nationwide. By putting a spotlight on writing education at Miami, we are helping prepare students to excel as clear, concise, and persuasive writers in academic, professional, and personal settings.
