Every year, the Howe Center for Writing Excellence sponsors children through the Salvation Army’s Hamilton Corp as a means to give back to the community and do some good over the holiday season. This year, the HCWE is sponsoring five children and accepting donations that will help provide these children with coats, clothing, and toys.

The children’s names and ages are as follows:

  • Matias, 6
  • Katelyn, 1
  • Arisson, 7
  • Christopher, 8
  • Keyla, 9

Last year, the HCWE sponsored three children and raised about $125 per child. To break last year’s record, the HCWE would like to raise at least $600 total.

Will you help the HCWE break last year’s record?

If you are interested in donating to support the cause, you may do so by visiting the HCWE office in King Library in-person or donating through Venmo using the QR code below. Venmo payments go to Mandy Olejnik, Assistant Director of Writing Across the Curriculum. The HCWE is accepting donations through November 11.

Please help the HCWE in its efforts to raise money and make this holiday season a memorable one for these five children.
