Maintenance/Repair Specialist, Senior
General Function
Assists in maintaining university facilities by performing complex operations in a specialized field
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities—Essential Functions
- Monitors activities of facility to ensure the smooth flow or operations and that all systems are fully functional.
- Identifies and corrects and problems in equipment or procedures.
- Ensures that facility is in compliance with all pertinent University, local, and state rules and regulations.
- Maintains inventory of materials and supplies; orders as necessary; oversees receiving of materials and supplies.
- Oversees staff; establishes work schedules and assigns tasks; monitors and reviews performance; ensures that any necessary corrections or changes are made.
Reporting Relationships
Direction Received: Reports to University Engineer or Operations Manager
Direction Given: Functional guidance to a group of student employees working on an ongoing basis. May provide occasional training and instruction of classified staff
Minimum Requirements
Requires nine months of technical training beyond high school and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires driver's license.

- Knowledge of computer and unit applications
- Supervisory skills
Working Conditions
Physical effort usually requires considerable walking and standing with some lifting of materials weighing 25 to 50 pounds. Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Some exposure to several unpleasant elements which are particularly disagreeable.
