Benefit Enrollment

Within 31 days of being hired, you must complete your new hire benefit enrollment in the "Employee Services Online" section of BannerWeb.

Watch the interactive 2022 Miami University Benefits video for benefit information and instructions on how to enroll in benefits and select your retirement plan.

If you do not complete the benefit enrollment within this time, you will automatically be enrolled in the default options:

  • The single Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) medical insurance plan.
  • Miami's group life insurance, accidental death insurance, and long term disability (LTD) plans.

Declining University Health Coverage

If you already have health insurance, you must still go into the online system to do the following:

  • Select a beneficiary for the university-provided life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
  • Decline health insurance coverage. When declining coverage, you must also complete the Health Plan Waiver within 31 days of hire. If you do not, you will be automatically added to the defaults listed above.
