Project Details: Acquire digital webcams to replace and update outdated and failing analog video recording machinery necessary for counselor training program. Acquire enough webcams to enable all clinical staff to create video recordings for purposes of enhancing clinical interventions.

Problem Project Attempts to Solve: Current video recording machinery is 16 years old, analog in nature, and frequently breakdowns/is inconsistently available for purposes needed. Also, there is no such video recording capacity for current professional counseling staff to use when wanting to make recordings for clinical usage.

Does this project focus on graduate student education or graduate student life?: Yes

If yes, explain: All counselor trainees are doctoral students in Ph.D. programs in counseling or clinical psychology. The program would primarily enhance the video recordings for their training purposes which in turn assists undergraduate students who are the majority of the clientele of the counselor trainees.

Does it meet tech fee criteria?: This project would significantly update current video recording capacity throughout the student Counseling Service and do so for much less than repairing or replacing current analog machinery. Availability of video recording throughout the department allows for unique and innovative clinical interventions, e.g. client and counselor reviewing sessions together, that would otherwise not be capable.

How will you assess the project?: (1)Count the number of times video recording capacity is disabled with vs. without new digital webcams. (2) count the number of times therapists use video recording to improve clinical interventions and/or training functions in one year.
